Pam's musical inclinations were obvious as early as the age of
four when she responded perfectly in tune to her mother Mary's
urging – “Sing harmony, Pam,” as Mary played the piano. That
started an informal education that included singing in church and
school choirs. Pam started singing and dance lessons, learned to
play the piano, accompanying herself and others, and loved all
kinds of music. And she could sing it all -- gospel, Broadway,
opera, pop and big band music.

Pam still enjoys it all - although her personal style always brings
her back to the blues. Her greatest inspirations were Billie
Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Dinah Washington and
Louis Jordan. Rhythm and blues artists like Al Green, Aretha, BB
King, Laura Nyro and Roberta Flack made a strong impression.

Pam has been a lead singer in rock bands, rhythm & blues bands,
punk/new wave bands, and blues bands. She's played leads in
musicals. Her recording career includes stints as a jingle singer,
backup singer and arranger, and recording artist. Pam was signed
by Left Field Records and produced two CDs for them,
Die Happy
and
Dancing on the Pyramids. Her most recent recording,
Something Wonderful, was produced for Beat Productions.

Pam was a featured songwriter/performer in the NEW
MONDAYS series at the Duplex in NYC and has performed her
songs in the MAC/ASCAP Songwriters Showcase. Pam’s
compositions have been presented at the New York Sheet Music
Society.

Pam teaches vocal performance and is Associate Director of
 The
International Cabaret Conference at Yale University, a summer
program where she is one of a faculty of seventeen who lead thirty-
nine singers from around the world through nine days of master
classes and performances in the art of cabaret.

Sharing her knowledge of performing is a cause dear to Pam's
heart.
